Job Description
So, what will your new role look like?
We’re looking for a detail-driven and system-savvy Billing Manager to own and optimize our SaaS billing operations. You’ll lead a small team, manage complex subscription billing workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our revenue engine runs smoothly. This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Tax, RevOps, and Customer Success—perfect for someone who loves operational precision and solving billing puzzles at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a 3-person billing team, fostering clarity, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage day-to-day SaaS billing and AR operations in Recurly and Xero, supporting the NetSuite migration.
- Monitor AR aging and key KPIs (DSO, failed payments, churn), and guide collection strategies.
- Enforce billing policies across Sales, CS, RevOps, and Support to ensure compliance and process alignment.
- Act as a point of escalation for billing issues and provide actionable insights to Finance leadership.
- Support revenue recognition, monthly reconciliations, and audit readiness in partnership with Accounting.
- Drive automation and optimize tools (e.g. Recurly, Stripe, Avalara) to scale billing operations and reduce errors.
- Collaborate with Product and RevOps to maintain accurate pricing, SKUs, and catalog alignment in billing systems.

- Advance system optimization efforts across billing tools and workflows.
- Support the team in day-to-day billing operations and issue resolution.
- Champion billing best practices while collaborating cross-functionally with key stakeholders.

- Lead a team of three knowledgeable and autonomous individuals.
- Provide support on complex billing issues and guidance on ongoing optimization projects.
What are the next challenges awaiting your team?
- Support the upcoming NetSuite implementation and customer migration to Recurly (go-live October 1, 2025).
- Ensure clear procedures and processes are in place to enable a smooth transition.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in billing, AR, or order-to-cash, including 2+ years in a SaaS or subscription-based environment;
- Proven track record of leading small billing or finance teams with a focus on operational excellence;
- Strong knowledge of SaaS billing platforms (Recurly or similar) and payment processors (e.g. Stripe, BlueSnap);
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Skilled in Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis;
- Solid understanding of revenue recognition under ASPE or IFRS, especially for deferred revenue;
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
