Who We Are Looking For:
 
We are looking for a motivated Intern with great phone, writing, and data compilation and research skills to join our Operations & Management (O&M) team. Our O&M team operates drinking, recycled, reclaimed, and wastewater facilities across the United States, ensuring that clean water is always readily available to the communities that they are serving. If you want to expand your skills while working alongside talented experts, then this is the opportunity for you!
 
In this role, you will be involved with identifying potential business leads and working side-by-side with experienced Business Development experts to help clients address their water and wastewater environmental challenges. This involves developing sales target lists and extensive online research to learn about industries/municipalities that may be building/expanding water treatment systems, paying excessive environmental costs, or may be having permit compliance issues with their regulatory bodies.  To do this effectively, you will need a professional demeanor, strong critical thinking skills, the ability to accurately capture the information you are collecting, and organize and share that information with the other members of the Business Development team through regular meetings.

Location and Schedule:
 
This position may be based in one of our office or plant locations across the U. S., or you may work virtually from your home.  We are open to part-time or full-time hours, and based on your schedule, you may start full-time in the summer, and continue on a part-time basis to accommodate your educational schedule.

We are results driven, which creates some flexibility in your work hours.

What You Will Need To Succeed:

  • Strong online research, phone, and writing skills.
  • Ability to learn SalesForce software, and pull reports from the system.
  • Microsoft Excel skills – you will be organizing data into a clear and workable format.
  • Strong follow-up skills upon request for information from regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to be comfortable with submitting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in the desired format of each individual municipality/regulatory authority.
  • Take direction and meet target schedule dates.
  • Be open to learning the “why” their role is important to Woodard & Curran and the impact of the company’s success.
