Job Description

Limbic is making personalized mental healthcare available to everyone, everywhere. Using artificial intelligence we've built a virtual therapy assistant to support patients and clinicians throughout the care pathway. Our innovative AI in combination with the unique data we are collecting has proven to be our key differentiator.

Our AI agents are already used in over 40% of NHS talking therapy services and in US some of the largest healthcare providers. It’s challenging. We’re ambitious. And we’re helping one another to achieve our best and make a real impact in the world.

As Clinical AI Engineer you will join our cutting-edge research team and spearhead projects using large language models (LLM) to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic content and exercises. There is a clear focus on ensuring clinical safety and therapeutic benefit to patients while driving engagement with the therapeutic material.

You should apply if you are passionate about employing your clinical expertise on a large scale, enabling other therapists to provide the best care possible to patients, and pushing the boundaries of AI-enabled healthcare.

You will take the lead on your own language-based features to improve our product as well as helping to improve and maintain our existing set of features. You will take ownership of the whole life cycle of a new LLM-feature, design and conduct LLM-projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

● Scope and design new LLM-projects

● Drive patient engagement with the clinical content in our application

● Apply your clinical expertise to prototype innovative LLM-solutions for improving

patients’ experience and personalised care within Limbic

● Ensure safety and clinical accuracy of our LLM features through safety testing and

ongoing monitoring of feature in production

● Work closely with our UX-designers to ensure new features improve the experience

with our product

● Apply your knowledge of programming together with our

engineering team to implement new LLM-features in the product

● Work with the research team to evaluate and monitor our features and ensure that they deliver

the best clinical impact to patients

Requirements:

● Degree and/or post graduate qualification in clinical psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, or a similar field with demonstrable clinical training. This qualification must be complete or being completed no later than September 2025.

● At least 6 months of post-qualification experience working in a therapeutic setting and strong knowledge of current best practices for patient care and therapy. This should be experience of directly delivering therapy or therapeutic interventions to patients.

● Strong product focus

● Coding and software development experience, ideally in Python.

● Ideally real-world software deployment experience (e.g. working on an open source project, collaborating with a team to build a product, building a software based side-project)

● Knowledge about machine learning methods and LLMs

● A strong focus on real-world impact

● The ability to prototype fast in order to test ideas quickly

● Creative problem solving about how LLMs and AI can improve our product

● Preference for ability to come to our central London office at least 1 day a week, though fully remote considered for the right candidate.
