We’re now looking for a Controller to build our accounting function from the ground up.
What you'll do
Lead full-cycle accounting, month end close, preparation of financial statements, and variance analysis
Coordinate US GAAP audits with external auditors
Manage enterprise and self-service billing, revenue recognition, and AR
Manage payroll via PEOs, AP and credit cards
Implement sales/use tax registrations and processes across states
Manage general tax compliance and filings
Own internal controls, accounting processes, and financial systems
Leverage AI tools to build the foundation of a next generation accounting function
What you'll bring
3+ years of experience working in a high-growth SaaS startup environment, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous settings. Experience in an on-premises software business is a plus.
5+ years of experience working in an accounting function.
Direct experience implementing sales/use tax collection.
Direct experience working on or leading a financial audit for a SaaS startup.
Direct experience running US and international payroll is preferred.
Big 4 experience and CPA preferred.
Deep grasp of corporate finance, US GAAP, SaaS accounting (e.g. ASC 606), and internal financial controls.
Passion for building and maintaining a clean financial system.
Desire to experiment and leverage AI to build a best in class accounting function.
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to translate financial complexity into narratives for executive stakeholders.
Evaluating and incorporating business needs into financial processes to support the company’s goals.
Prior experience leading and building a team is a plus.
