Department Description
The Digital Channels squads are building Allica’s online and mobile banking experiences, aimed at established SMEs, who need both fantastic technology and best-in-class customer experience. Allica aims to offer unparalleled value to UK SMEs, providing a simple and seamless approach to interacting with their banking requirements.
Allica has a modern product function, based around empowered and autonomous product squads. Alongside product specialists, each squad includes colleagues from functions such as engineering, design, marketing and testing. Our product development is fast-paced and collaborative.
We are rare amongst banks in that our senior leadership team have backgrounds at world-leading fintechs, which shows in their active engagement with our product squad updates, and in our bank-wide adoption of modern tools & techniques such as Scrum/Kanban and Jira.
Because we are working on one of the last untapped fintech opportunities, it often means that we're often working on entirely new product or technological challenges. No two days are ever the same.
Role Description
As a Data Analyst in the Digital Channels Tribe at Allica, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we use data to drive decision-making across our online and mobile banking platforms for established SMEs. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across product, finance, risk, and operations to build foundational reporting, deliver actionable insights, and support the development of a data-driven culture. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who is curious, self-motivated, and eager to grow—bringing strong SQL skills, a desire to deepen their Python knowledge, and a passion for experimentation, especially with AI.
Principal Accountabilities
• Learn and understand Allica’s products and customer journeys through data, especially within the Digital Channels Tribe.
• Support the team by building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Metabase to track key metrics.
• Assist in developing and improving data pipelines (ETLs) to ensure clean, reliable data.
• Work with product, finance, risk, and operations teams to understand their data needs and help answer key questions.
• Help document data sources, definitions, and processes to build a strong foundation for future analytics work.
• Contribute to making data more accessible and usable across the business.
• Take part in promoting a data-driven culture by sharing insights and asking thoughtful questions.
Personal Attributes & Experience
• Some experience working as a data analyst or in a data-focused role (internships or academic projects welcome).
• Comfortable writing SQL queries and working with multiple data sources.
• Basic knowledge of Python or a strong interest in learning it on the job.
• Curious and proactive—keen to explore data, solve problems, and learn from others.
• Able to communicate clearly, especially when explaining data insights to non-technical colleagues.
• Flexible and open to working on a variety of tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Interested in experimenting with new tools and technologies, including AI.
• A team player who’s excited to grow and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
