JOB TITLE:               DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - MEXICO

REPORTS TO:         CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and cross-border strategy for U.S.–Mexico surface transportation.
  • Oversees and executes go-to-market strategies, mentor high-performing sales teams, and serves as the subject matter expert for Mexico-related freight solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for strategic planning and market execution.
  • Develops and executes Mexico-focused go-to-market strategies that align with corporate and divisional goals.
  • Analyzes market trends and customer insights to shape freight solutions across key verticals, including but not limited to automotive, retail, pharma, and energy.
  • Leads bid strategy, pricing models, and solution development tailored to Mexico-U.S. freight.
  • Cultivates and manages executive-level relationships with strategic shippers, 3PL partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Serves as the executive communicator of value, ensuring customer feedback informs operational improvements.
  • Leads client discovery sessions, coordinates bid responses and oversees cross-border RFPs.
  • Mentors and manages cross-border sales teams to drive performance, revenue, and pipeline health.
  • Trains and develops high-potential talent focused on Mexico-U.S. transportation.
  • Promotes a collaborative culture across departments including but not limited to pricing, operations, carrier sales, and IT.
  • Leads sales proposal creation and participates in high-level contract negotiations with multinational clients.
  • Translates strategic goals into executable sales initiatives that accelerate growth in Mexico.
  • Aligns internal pricing, solution design, and execution teams to support complex freight programs.
  • Acts as the company’s subject matter expert for Mexico freight, advising on customs processes, regulatory compliance, and documentation (IMMEX, Carta Porte, C-TPAT, SAT).
  • Strengthens carrier networks and partnerships within Mexico, supporting capacity growth and service quality.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in cross-border logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation sales—ideally focused on U.S.–Mexico freight.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proven success in business development or strategic sales leadership roles within a 3PL/4PL environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S.–Mexico freight regulations, customs clearance, and transportation operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage pipelines, and drive strategic initiatives across departments.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with TMS, CRM, EDI/API integrations, and digital freight tools preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Willing and able to be on call as required.
  • Ability to learn quickly, analyze situations and make decisions which support the ongoing success of MegaCorp.
