ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a Senior Database Developer (PostgreSQL) in Ukraine.
ABOUT PROJECT
Our client is from Ukraine. We are developing a track-and-trace system for electronic excise stamps, which will eventually replace paper excise stamps.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of commercial experience in database development
- Proven hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL
- Strong focus on database audit and performance optimization
- Solid skills in application performance analysis, troubleshooting, and cloud cost awareness
- English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level or higher
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate and lead comprehensive audits of the PostgreSQL database to uncover performance bottlenecks and assess technical debt
- Collaborate with the team to establish a structured discovery process aimed at long-term performance improvements
- Diagnose and address recurring issues affecting application speed and user workflows, shifting from short-term fixes to sustainable solutions
- Identify inefficient database patterns that drive up cloud costs and risk derailing development projects
- Act as the go-to database expert in a team with limited internal DB expertise, guiding best practices and optimization efforts throughout development
