We’re seeking an experienced Onboarding & Training Specialist to own the full employee lifecycle experience at Hatch. You will design and deliver a best-in-class onboarding program that accelerates new-hire productivity, embeds our culture and processes, and manages off-boarding and performance workflows to ensure every team member is set up and stays at their best.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding Program Design & Delivery
Develop and facilitate a multi-day “Boot Camp” covering:
Hatch’s mission, history, and strategic roadmap
Core customers, value proposition, and organizational milestones
Department-specific processes, tools, and success metrics
Create interactive workshops, role-plays, and Q&A sessions to reinforce key concepts.
Act as the primary facilitator for all new-hire orientation sessions, ensuring consistency and engagement.
Team-Specific Playbooks & Documentation
Produce tailored onboarding guides for: Go-to-Market, Product, and Engineering teams
Consolidate process maps, tool walkthroughs, and org charts into each handbook
Continuously update materials based on feedback and evolving business needs
Off-boarding & Performance Management
Coordinate structured off-boarding for departing employees—conduct exit interviews, ensure knowledge transfer, and revoke access per policy
Partner with Operations to administer performance review cycles, track probationary milestones, and support managers in delivering feedback
Maintain audit-ready records of all onboarding, off-boarding, and performance processes
Employee Benefits & Wellness
Administer all employee benefit programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), commuter, etc.), including open-enrollment planning and execution.
Serve as the internal point of contact for benefit vendors and brokers—resolving enrollment issues and answering employee questions.
Monitor benefit utilization and recommend enhancements to maintain competitive offerings and cost-efficiency.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with Recruiting to ensure a seamless handoff from offer acceptance to first day
Track key metrics—time-to-productivity, training satisfaction, retention rates and report regularly to the VP of Finance & Operations
Identify gaps and implement enhancements to turn each cohort into a learning opportunity
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Liaise with departmental leads to stay current on workflows, tools, and role expectations
Serve as the “voice of the employee,” surfacing systemic blockers and driving timely resolution
Coach hiring managers on effective 30/60/90-day check-ins, career development plans, and performance calibration
Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years in a fast-paced SaaS or technology environment, leading onboarding, training, or People Operations efforts
Proven track record designing multi-day training curricula and managing employee lifecycle workflows
Skills & Attributes:
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
Outstanding presenter—comfortable leading sessions for groups of all sizes
Strong written communicator—able to distill complex processes into clear, concise documentation
Proactive self-starter who thrives on improving systems and experiences
Professional demeanor with a knack for making a great first (and last) impression
This role is critical to transforming new hires into force multipliers, managing smooth exits, and ensuring that performance processes reinforce Hatch’s culture of excellence.
