Job Description

Groomer Coordinator

Groombuggy is the premier mobile dog grooming company in the San Francisco Bay Area and Denver. We are taking a Silicon Valley tech startup approach to the mobile dog grooming industry, and growing rapidly! We are proud of the work we do to create great jobs for dog groomers and help pet owners care for their loved ones. We’re excited to become the next modern national pet brand.

Grooming Coordinators have dual responsibilities, and are responsible for both grooming dogs and functioning as a lead groomer within their region. Grooming Coordinators are the first line of defense for logistical and tactical issues that arise, and understand when circumstances warrant escalation to a Groomer Manager and beyond.  In a grooming capacity, they act as the face of Groombuggy when interacting with customers and operate Groombuggy’s mobile grooming vehicles in accordance with company policies. This role spends four days per week grooming, and has one dedicated administrative day per week for managerial duties.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Effectively balance grooming responsibilities with providing day-to-day, tactical support to Groomers within their region.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to be available on an “as needed” basis to guide and troubleshoot grooming and van related issues within their region.

  • Positively influence Groomers and contribute to their success. Articulate feedback to Groomers in a way that is thoughtful, kind, and direct.

  • Lead by example: encourage Groomers to take accountability and work with them to problem-solve.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the company's values through your actions. Successfully articulate the company’s goals and values to direct reports.

  • Participate in management meetings as scheduled.

  • Respond promptly to all internal and external correspondence, being consistent and reliable.

  • Facilitate dog grooming in accordance with company guidelines and best practices.

  • Operate company vehicles safely and according to company procedures. Ensure vans have adequate water and gas needed to perform work. Communicate any vehicle maintenance issues that arise for themselves or direct reports to the Fleet Manager.

  • Provide excellent customer service through consultations with customers, educating customers to ensure mutual understanding, and maintaining professional and friendly communication with customers in every interaction.

  • Articulate grooming price structure to both customers and direct reports. Appropriately set the final price of a service based on work completed.

  • Document appointments according to company procedures. Take adequate notes of appointment details and before & after photos for each groom.

  • Follow all company protocols and safety procedures in case of van accident, dog injury, or groomer injury. Conduct oneself to always facilitate the safety of animals and self. Troubleshoot with direct reports and the appropriate parties when an accident or injury occurs.

  • Coordinate with the Trust & Safety team regarding any issues that may occur during grooms, including unhappy customers, pet injury, etc.

  • Facilitate van cleaning requirements to ensure the vehicle is presentable for every groom upon arrival at a customer’s house, at the end of each work day, and when the van is being passed off to another groomer.

  • Coordinate swapping company vehicles with other groomers as needed in accordance with company procedures.

  • Partner with the Groomer Experience Manager to ensure necessary tools are available, safe, and well maintained.

  • Do laundry as needed to comply with company cleanliness standards and best practices.

  • Adhere to timekeeping policies such as clocking in/out, and taking meal breaks in accordance with state regulations. Ensure individual timesheets are accurate and communicate accordingly to make corrections as needed.

  • Maintain an awareness of your individual schedule by checking company communication channels in accordance with best practices.
