The Role

As Group Director of Media Strategy at Wpromote, you’ll be a senior strategic leader driving integrated marketing solutions across a portfolio of high-impact clients. You’ll lead and mentor a pod of strategists, which will involve shaping audience insights, developing media mixes, ensuring creative strategy is optimal along with full funnel measurement strategies all while partnering directly with senior clients to solve complex business challenges.

In this highly dynamic role, you'll balance executive-level client engagement with hands-on team leadership, helping to grow both revenue and talent. You’ll collaborate across departments to scale best practices, elevate strategic thinking, and build strong, future-forward client relationships. The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $165,000 - $190,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

You Will Be

  • Managing a pod of media strategists, including supporting their books of business
  • Developing a deep understanding of your books of client businesses, industries and competition
  • Overseeing and up-leveling planning and strategy sessions with clients to ensure  KPIs, business goals and marketing goals align
  • Leading the development of cross-channel media strategies at the agency-level across TV, Paid Search, Paid Social and Programmatic (Display, Video, OTT, Audio, DOOH), inclusive of media mix, budget allocation, audience architecture, creative strategy, KPI development and learning agendas, and measurement frameworks
  • Spearheading the collaboration of the Wpromote internal channel leaders on thought leadership
  • Ensuring strategists in your pod act as stewards of budget for all paid media dollars, leading in-going media mix budget allocations, in-flight re-allocations based on performance, and identifying/proposing plans for incremental/claw back scenarios
  • Leading client calls with key executive stakeholders and aligning on business and marketing steering decisions
  • Partnering with Client Services leadership to develop frameworks for business reviews, leading the storytelling and narrative for key growth accounts
  • Providing thought leadership across the client, vertical, team, and agency
  • Driving strategic ideation and innovation across your pod and within the organization, facilitating new channel exploration, spearheading new partner RFPs, and piloting first to market alphas/betas to develop agency POVs and stay ahead of the market.
  • Partnering with your VP on key strategic new business initiatives, from helping to identify growth opportunities to assisting with the new business pitches in a leading role
  • Working closely with account leads and your VP to assist in forecasting the department's hours and budget; determine the correct roles, responsibilities, and expertise needed to scale and grow the team
  • Empowering direct reports through hands-on coaching, structured development plans, and growth-focused training initiatives

You Must Have

  • 10+ years of experience working in paid media advertising comprising of media activation, multi-channel experience preferred (search, social, programmatic)
  • 3+ years of experience in a management role, preferably working with multiple clients and team members at once on various priorities
  • Proven track record in developing, analyzing and storytelling on full-funnel campaigns on both brand and performance objectives
  • Strong background in running cross-channel client engagements in an account leadership role autonomously or with the support of additional junior team members
  • Demonstrated expertise in working closely with a given client’s additional agency partners on integrated strategy, planning, and measurement
  • Experience working with analytics teams on granular program tracking and performance dashboard creation
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
  • Experience leveraging AI to automate and improve workflows
  • Effective time management and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field
