The Head of Policy, North America, will assume a strategic role within the Policy and Regulatory Affairs team at Chainalysis. This role is responsible for directing the company's engagement with US governmental bodies, shaping public policy related to cryptocurrency and emerging financial technologies, and acting as the Company's spokesperson both internally and with external stakeholders on US policy and regulatory matters affecting Chainalysis. The position demands a profound understanding of the digital asset regulatory landscape and the functioning of the U.S. government, as well as the ability to educate and empower stakeholders and advocate for policies that advance Chainalysis' business objectives.
In this role, you’ll:
Government Engagement
Serve as the primary liaison to key policy stakeholders within the federal government.
Create and implement a successful key stakeholder engagement strategy on policy and regulatory matters in the United States.
Foster relationships with Executive and Congressional members to develop champions for Chainalysis within both parties.
Industry Representation
Act as Chainalysis's spokesperson on legislative and regulatory issues.
Attend industry events and represent the company in policy discussions, ensuring an active presence within the industry and regulators.
Legislative Engagement
Draft comment letters in response to newly proposed regulations.
Respond to Congressional inquiries, prepare witnesses for testimony, and support legislative initiatives.
Oversight of External Engagements
Manage relationships with external lobbyists and trade associations, guiding messaging and strategy.
Policy Monitoring and Analysis
Track policy and regulatory developments that may impact the business.
Prepare analyses of these developments with actionable recommendations for the business (internally and externally).
Collaboration Across Teams
Work in concert with Chainalysis and Chainalysis Government Solutions leadership and account teams to identify engagement opportunities and facilitate strategic policy efforts.
Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to align products and go to market with regulatory requirements.
Participate in meetings with customers to provide policy insights and serve as thought leader in conversations.
Communication and Advocacy
Prepare internal and external enablement materials and communications.
Develop and publish thought leadership content, blogs, or op-eds to enhance Chainalysis's visibility in policy debates.
We’re looking for candidates who have:
Advanced degree in Public Policy, International Affairs, or a relevant field preferred.
Professional experience related to digital asset regulation, public policy, financial crimes, cybercrimes, tax, traditional financial services, financial consumer protection or other relevant topics related to the Chainalysis business.
An understanding of and interest in digital assets.
Gravitas and the ability to quickly establish trust and confidence with high-profile government leaders as an advisor and counselor.
A proven track record of supporting and executing successful regulatory and government affairs initiatives to achieve enterprise-wide results; proven experience building partnerships and strategic alliances between public and private entities.
