About the Role
We’re looking for an Implementations Lead to drive the success of customer onboarding at Float. Reporting into our Co-Founder, this person will own and scale our onboarding playbook, ensuring that customers realize value quickly and efficiently after signing up.
This is a high-impact, senior IC-manager hybrid role ideal for someone who can think strategically, execute operationally, and lead a small but mighty team. You’ll sit at the intersection of BizOps, onboarding, and automation, and you’ll be deeply accountable for our Account Takeoff Success Rate, one of the most important metrics at Float.
The success of a new customer at Float depends on one critical phase: Onboarding. This role ensures customers don’t just sign up – they activate, adopt, and advocate. You’ll play a foundational role in reducing churn, increasing time-to-value, and shaping how customers experience Float from day one.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Account Takeoff Success: You will fully own the onboarding phase after a deal is closed – ensuring customers activate and succeed in the first 120 days.
Onboarding Playbook Execution: Refine and scale our onboarding frameworks, SLAs, templates, and automation across segments.
Team Leadership: Lead and coach a small team of Onboarding Specialists and Coordinators, ensuring they are operating efficiently and delivering against KPIs.
Tooling & Automation: Leverage CSM tooling (e.g., Salesforce, Vitally, Gainsight), SQL, Zapier/Make, and custom workflows to drive scalable onboarding experiences.
First Principles + Data: Operate from first principles and validate every iteration with data. You’ll define and own dashboards that monitor onboarding health, takeoff conversion, and time-to-value.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Support, Sales, and RevOps to improve handoffs, reduce friction, and solve root causes of failed onboardings.
Customer Advocacy: Be the voice of the customer during onboarding, identifying common drop-off points and surfacing themes to Product and CX leadership.
About You
Here’s what sets you up for success at Float:
You Put Customers First, Always. You care deeply about delivering meaningful value. Whether you're building internal systems or customer-facing features, you're always thinking about how to make life better for our users.
You Act Like an Owner. You take responsibility for outcomes, step up to challenges, and seek solutions proactively—doing what’s best for the business, not just your role.
You Think Big and Move Fast. You’re energized by building from 0 to 1. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo, experiment quickly, and learn as you go.
You Constantly Learn and Grow. You’re hungry to improve your craft and open to feedback. You bring a growth mindset to everything you do.
You Raise the Bar. You care about doing things well and efficiently. You balance speed with rigor and always look for ways to improve how we work.
You Win as a Team. You’re a generous collaborator who values communication, context, and shared wins. You lift others up and help make the team stronger.
In addition to living our values, you are:
A Strategic Operator: You’re a business-minded operator with 6-10+ years in BizOps, SuccessOps, or post-sales leadership. You think in systems and love designing processes that scale.
Data-Fluent: You’re comfortable in SQL, Looker, or Metabase and can build, audit, and analyze onboarding funnels to identify bottlenecks.
Tool & Automation Savvy: You have hands-on experience working with CRMs, CSM tools, and workflow automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier, Make, Vitally, Notion, etc.).
A First-Principles Thinker: You approach problems with logic, not legacy. You don’t blindly repeat what worked elsewhere - you figure out what’s right for this team and customer.
An Outcome-Oriented Leader: You’ve led or coached teams before. You know how to set clear expectations, inspect work, and unblock people to move quickly.
Customer-Obsessed: You have empathy for SMBs and understand the urgency and chaos that comes with running a growing business. You’re passionate about helping them succeed with Float.
Resilient & Adaptable: You’re energized by fast-paced environments and don’t get discouraged by change - you run toward it.
This may not be the role for you if:
You need close day-to-day direction rather than working independently
You’re not energized by feedback or fast-paced change
You’re seeking predictability over adaptability
You’re not comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations
You prefer to stay in your lane rather than collaborate cross-functionally
You don’t feel a strong connection to Float’s mission or the product we’re building
