About the Role
As a Lead Business Process Analyst within the Ecosystem group, you'll play a critical role in guiding and developing our Business Process Analyst function, particularly for initiatives focused on product data exchange between brands and retailers. You will directly manage and mentor a team of Business Process Analysts, fostering their growth, overseeing their project contributions, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives across multiple initiatives.
You will leverage your deep expertise to set standards, optimize processes, and drive high-quality execution across key initiatives. This role requires a blend of hands-on analytical work, strategic thinking, and strong people leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of Business Process Analysts, providing guidance on project tasks, problem-solving, and career growth.
- Oversee their contributions to strategic Salsify initiatives which includes analyzing Voice of Customer entries, performing customer discovery, defining high-level requirements, and managing early access programs with Salsify customers.
- Ensure the BPA team develops strong working knowledge of relevant platform areas and effectively shares that knowledge across broader teams, reducing inbound technical questions and driving documentation updates.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support individual development plans for team members.
- Strategic Resource Deployment & Cross-Training:
- Partner closely with Product Managers to understand their team's priorities, upcoming initiatives, and specific project needs.
- Strategically deploy BPAs to align with product roadmap priorities and ensure optimal team capacity utilization across different domains and projects.
- Implement and manage cross-training programs to ensure BPAs develop broad expertise across various product areas and domains, enhancing team flexibility and resilience.
- Strategic Process Optimization:
- Design, recommend, and drive the implementation of significant process improvements, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and leveraging available toolsets.
- Supervise and ensure the ongoing health and optimization of owned processes throughout their lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advocacy:
- Build and maintain strong, effective working relationships with Product Managers, Engineering teams, and other cross-functional partners.
- Act as a key advocate for identified business needs and process adjustments, expertly navigating complex environments with strong opinions and deep expertise.
- Facilitate proactive and clear communication with your team, managers, and stakeholders, addressing lack of alignment and driving resolutions.
You'll Enjoy This Role If You Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Process Analyst, or similar role, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity directly managing others, preferably within SaaS applications.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing multiple junior or mid-level analysts.
- Exceptional ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence within a dynamic organization, effectively guiding collaboration across teams.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating complex business challenges into actionable, scalable solutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with tackling and troubleshooting technical challenges, including navigating complex data formats and reporting.
- Superior organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively across multiple concurrent initiatives and manage team workloads.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills (English language proficiency is required), with the ability to proactively share knowledge, present complex information clearly, and provide effective coaching.
- A commitment to defining success metrics and using context to inform prioritization, escalation management, and cross-functional communication.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
