Title: Multilingual (Spanish, French, English) Translator - P3
Location: Remote - Canada
Reports to: Director, Professional Services and Localization
Part-time 20 hours per week. 6 months Limited Term position
The Role:
Seeking a trilingual Spanish/French/English Translator to support automotive industry content at JD Power. Responsibilities include translating automotive data, surveys, marketing materials, legal documents, and other content/reports with accuracy and cultural fluency. Ideal candidates have experience in technical and automotive translation, market research, and multilingual content localization.
The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
This role ensures the accuracy and clarity of multilingual communications, directly supporting JD Power’s global reach and reputation for data integrity and customer insight. By localizing content for diverse markets, the translator will enhance customer engagement, support international research initiatives, and provide accurate and timely translations for clients in the automotive industry.
What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:
- Translate and revise a variety of content, primarily from English to Spanish but may also include French, including automotive, technical, survey, marketing, legal, HR, and automotive-specific documentation using established vocabulary and standards.
- Maintain and update automotive product databases, ensuring accuracy in vehicle model translations and assisting with quality checks.
- Support web/software localization through translation, revision, QA, and testing of digital applications.
- Collaborate with other translators and cross-functional teams to meet project needs and timelines, while reporting risks and updates regularly.
- Adhere to structured workflows, including translation speed benchmarks, file organization, checklist use, and weekly task reporting for departmental planning.
Qualifications of This Role:
- Demonstrable experience in professional translation and localization, particularly from English into Spanish (and optionally French), with a focus on technical, marketing, and legal content.
- Have worked in automotive, technology, or market research industries, ideally with experience supporting multilingual content for global clients.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field; certification in translation (e.g., ATA, OTTIAQ) is a plus.
- With responsibility for high-volume, deadline-driven translation projects in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments, requiring strong accountability and consistency.
- Software experience in CAT tools (e.g., LogiTerm, SDL Trados, MemoQ), terminology databases, QA tools (e.g., Xbench), and web/content management systems is a plus.
