About Us:
Blockworks is a financial media brand that delivers breaking news and premium insights about digital assets to millions of investors. Our content, newsletters, podcasts, and events provide investors with the critical analysis and information they need to make smarter decisions about digital assets.
Who You Are:
You’re a hands-on producer with a sharp editorial eye, technical chops, and a deep love for news, especially when it intersects with finance, tech, or crypto. You’ve owned full-cycle production for a daily or near-daily podcast or video series, and you thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. You’re a strong technical editor, and love to leverage the latest tooling (including AI) to help rapidly edit and produce content with a focus on maximizing engagement.
You know how to make complex topics clear, engaging, and on-brand. You’re as comfortable cutting a fast-paced cold open as you are writing a punchy episode title. You can run daily production workflows solo, keep things organized under pressure, and are constantly looking for ways to level up the final product. You care about performance, but you also care about the craft—striking the right balance between creative storytelling and content that drives engagement.
New York City local candidates are strongly preferred as the show is filmed daily in our Manhattan office.
What You’ll Do:
As the Producer/Editor for our daily crypto news podcast, you'll work closely with our host and production team to distribute high-performing episodes across live streaming on X as well as podcast platforms like YouTube and RSS. You’ll own both post-production and publishing and play a key role in shaping both the editorial direction and the promotional strategy of the show.
Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:
Edit and Publish Daily Episodes: You’ll own the post-production process, including multi-cam video editing, audio cleanup, pacing, and final delivery for both YouTube and RSS platforms.
Write and Optimize Copy: You’ll craft compelling episode titles, descriptions, headlines, and show notes that maximize engagement and discovery.
Cut and Post Social Clips: You’ll identify and edit short-form moments from each episode for distribution on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
Track Performance: You’ll proactively monitor episode analytics (retention, clicks, watch time, downloads) and use insights to refine production and promotional strategies.
Support Research and Briefing: You’ll contribute to daily research, fact-checks, and prep materials for the host to ensure episodes are timely, well-informed, and accurate.
Drive Production Workflow: You’ll develop, maintain, and optimize workflows to keep the production moving quickly and efficiently without compromising quality.
Collaborate Across Teams: You’ll work with the broader podcast, design, and brand teams to ensure cohesive branding, publishing cadence, and promotion.
Support Content & Growth: You’ll partner with the host and leadership team to help strategize the editorial vision and growth plan for the show.
Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.
What You’ve Done Before:
You have at least 2 years of experience producing, editing, and publishing a video-first podcast or YouTube show, ideally in the crypto, finance, or tech space. You follow tech and crypto news closely and are familiar with the major narratives, personalities, and stories that shape the industry.
You’re a skilled video editor with experience using Adobe Premiere, Descript, or similar tools, and you can produce polished multi-cam edits quickly and independently. You know how to write compelling copy for YouTube, RSS, and social platforms, and you understand how SEO, titles, and thumbnails impact performance. You also have a strong grasp of what makes high-retention, high-engagement content work on YouTube and podcast platforms and can consistently execute at that standard. Above all, you’re extremely organized, proactive, and capable of owning daily publishing workflows on tight turnaround times.
It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:
If you have experience launching or relaunching a daily podcast or video show, we want to hear about it. Experience with YouTube analytics, motion graphics, thumbnail strategy, and social content distribution will also help you stand out. Candidates who have helped implement or refine production workflows and/or developed show formats from scratch will be especially well-positioned to succeed in this role.
