To support our mission, we're looking for a talented Product Marketing Manager to help us drive promotion of our universal scrapers (Actors) used by developers.
What you’ll be working on?
You will be responsible for the development and execution of the marketing strategy for our entire suite of universal scrapers.
Conduct competitive analysis and intelligence gathering to identify opportunities for our universal scrapers.
Develop and execute campaigns that clearly differentiate our universal scrapers from those of competitors.
Create technical content, comparison charts, and proof points that resonate with developer audiences.
Measure competitive win/loss rates and campaign performance, using data to refine positioning and messaging.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to identify feature gaps and competitive advantages in our offering.
Monitor the competitive landscape continuously, providing early warning of new threats and opportunities.
Educate internal teams on competitive positioning to ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints.
They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:
You have 5+ years of experience in B2B or B2D product marketing, ideally at a technology company with a strong developer focus and a product-led growth (PLG) model. We would also prefer experience in a PLG company targeting enterprise or mid-tier companies.
You have proven experience executing competitive GTM strategies in the US and European markets, with demonstrable wins against established incumbents.
You have a genuine passion for web scraping or data extraction, the latest in AI advancements, and how they unlock greater value for users.
You possess a proven track record of developing and executing successful product marketing strategies, from user research and competitive analysis to compelling messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans.
You can grasp complex technical concepts, such as APIs and webhooks, and translate them into clear, relatable, and engaging marketing campaigns for both technical and non-technical audiences.
You are a strategic thinker who knows how to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, focusing on the integration opportunities that will have the most significant impact.
You have experience creating buying committees for tech products, helping with prospecting workflows, and creating ABM campaigns.
You have exceptional organizational and multitasking skills and thrive when collaborating across various teams.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Any technical background and experience in the integrations space is a big plus, either in formal third-level education or in the trenches of another tech company.
What we expect from you in the first 6 months:
You will start as an individual contributor within our Universal Scrapers team. Your first goal is to become a productive contributor familiar with our products, use cases, and customers. You will do that by working on your one, three, and six-month goals below.
This role requires regular communication with multiple stakeholders and teams across the company. Your onboarding should be spent mostly in the Prague office to get to meet everyone.
By the end of the 1st month, we expect you to:
You completed the general onboarding process.
You built your own Actor (or integrated an existing one) to learn the Apify platform and products you are expected to market from a user’s perspective.
You got to know all the relevant stakeholders in 1-on-1 meetings.
You reviewed our current customer journey and had at least five calls with customers for Website Content Crawler. The goal is to identify the most common use cases.
You know the most successful use cases for universal scrapers in and out and can demo workflow in a popular integration.
You know where to find and how to interpret data on retention, number of users, and revenue for universal scrapers and can identify key metrics.
You are familiar with three different pricing models Apify deploys.
By the end of the first 4 months, we expect you to:
Conduct a competitive landscape analysis of our industry to identify key differentiators, market positioning opportunities, and assessment of any threats.
Engage with prospects to understand decision criteria, create a win/loss analysis framework, and develop competitive sales strategies.
Create a competitive positioning presentation for the sales team, including technical comparison charts, proof points, and objection handling.
Analyze current acquisition channels for universal scrapers and propose new channels targeting developers who are switching from competitors.
Publish technical comparison content (blog posts, documentation) comparing universal scrapers’ advantages over alternatives, optimized for developer search queries.
Establish partnerships with developer advocates and technical influencers for competitive messaging amplification.
From month 4 onwards, we expect you to:
Drive universal scraper adoption with a competitive win rate improvement of at least 15% against tracked opportunities.
Establish a comprehensive competitive tracking dashboard including market share metrics, feature parity analysis, and revenue impact from competitive campaigns.
Execute 3-4 major competitive marketing activities, including webinar series, technical content campaigns, and developer community engagement initiatives.
