Profile Overview

This is a founder-facing role, and we are looking for a driven, energetic, and professional individual to join our growing team. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a talent for relationship-building. The role requires expertise in accurately capturing and qualifying leads, effectively managing a sales pipeline, and achieving quarterly targets. The role of Senior Associate provides a challenging career opportunity as well as career advancement within saas.group. Working closely with senior leaders within saas.group, the successful candidate will help find creative ways to source and connect with suitable software companies for us to acquire.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify acquisition targets and nurture leads – proactively initiating and maintaining relationships with owners of software businesses by email, phone, LinkedIn, conferences and in person meetings. Obtaining high-level financial and operational information about target companies.
  • Respond to inbound leads - understanding and articulating saas.group acquisition criteria and unique value proposition to owners of target software businesses – both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain an impeccable CRM hygiene by capturing key information required for opportunity assessment
  • Participate and contribute to valuation discussions, as well as issuing acquisition offers
  • Assess fit and drive early valuation alignment: Help ensure quick assessment on target companies’ key financial metrics and valuation expectations to avoid misaligned opportunities and save time.
  • Engage with M&A advisors and intermediaries: Develop and maintain a high-quality network of regional and international M&A advisors, investment bankers, brokers, and deal intermediaries to ensure a consistent pipeline of opportunities from external sources.

What You bring to the table

  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working for either:
    • Software serial acquirer OR
    • Origination role in Venture Capital, Private Equity or Investment Banking OR
    • Corporate Development professionals looking to transition into origination OR
    • Expert network professionals
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and exceed prospecting target quotas. You are highly metrics-driven and possess extensive experience with cold calling founders and c-suite executives to generate an effective acquisition funnel.
  • Professional attitude and a persistent and solid work ethic. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented hybrid environment.
  • Native fluency in German required. Other European languages (French, Spanish, Italian are a plus)
