About Eye Security
Eye Security is providing cybersecurity with embedded cyber insurance solutions for organizations in Europe. Headquartered in the Netherlands, we are already over 170 FTEs and continue to grow internationally.
We combine cutting-edge technology with hands-on expertise to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats in real time. Our team brings together talent from intelligence, military, tech, and consulting backgrounds — all united by a shared mission: to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to every business, not just the big players.
At Eye, you’ll work on projects with an international footprint, solving real-world challenges and helping to build a safer digital future for our clients.
About this role
We’re looking for a Group Financial Controller (f/m/x) to lead and scale our controllership function as we enter our next phase of growth.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments. You’ll take full ownership of building a future-proof finance backbone — driving accuracy, automation, reporting, governance, and especially strong revenue recognition practices tailored to SaaS.
You’ll work closely with the VP Finance, CFO, and leadership across the company to ensure our financial systems, processes, and team can support sustainable scale. From monthly close and IFRS compliance to Chargebee automation and ERP integration — you’ll be responsible for building structure where it doesn’t yet exist, and improving what already does.
This is a hybrid role based in the Netherlands or Germany, ideally near one of our hubs (Amsterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven, Berlin, Duisburg). It includes occasional travel to London or the Netherlands.
What you will do
Lead financial control & reporting: Oversee the month-end close process across multiple entities and currencies. Consolidate financials and deliver accurate, timely, and compliant reporting under IFRS.
Own revenue recognition: Define and enforce revenue recognition policies. Partner with RevOps, Sales, and Product to ensure recognition rules align with subscription models and are accurately implemented across systems.
Drive financial system improvements: Lead improvements in Chargebee, ERP (e.g. NetSuite), and PowerBI, ensuring our finance stack scales with us. Identify manual processes and champion automation.
Establish budget accountability: Set department-level budget guardrails, monitor spend, and ensure cost discipline. Partner with People Ops and business teams on headcount and resource planning.
Lead a high-performing team: Manage and grow a distributed finance team, starting with our Netherlands-based GL and transactional finance colleagues. Set clear goals, build consistent processes, and foster a collaborative, performance-oriented culture.
Support strategic decision-making: Act as a key finance partner to the VP Finance and CFO. Contribute to board reporting, forecasting, investor updates, audits, and due diligence processes.
What you will need
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Significant experience in financial control, reporting, and systems ownership, ideally in international settings
Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition principles (MRR, ARR, deferred revenue)
Hands-on experience improving processes and automation in tools like Chargebee, NetSuite, Xero, or similar
A builder mindset with the drive to scale processes in fast-growing environments
Proven ability to manage distributed teams and coordinate across functions and geographies
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams
Nice to have
Experience in a B2B SaaS company
Exposure to private equity or VC-backed environments
Working knowledge of IFRS, especially revenue recognition standards (e.g. IFRS 15)
What we offer
A meaningful mission: protect organizations across Europe from real-world cyber threats
Work with top-tier professionals from national CERTs, intelligence agencies, and leading tech backgrounds
Full ownership of a strategic finance function in a high-growth cybersecurity scale-up
A remote-friendly culture with quarterly meetups and annual company retreats (in Spain, Portugal, Italy…)
Weekly lunches (NL) and Thursday socials to stay connected
A generous time-off policy, including wellbeing and volunteering days
Are you up for it?
We look forward to receiving your application.
