Job Description
Under the direction of the President and CEO, the Senior Vice President (SVP), Account Services, helps to lead the strategic direction of Synchrony Healthcare Communications, Inc. This individual is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow corporate revenue to meet and exceed corporate objectives, including client identification, development, satisfaction, and retention. The SVP leads and personally participates in business development opportunities and initiatives required to increase revenue to meet and surpass company goals, including managing the development and implementation of a new proactive business development plan.
The SVP has direct responsibility for the Account Services department. The Account Services team is responsible for client identification, development, satisfaction, and retention; the SVP leads this team in all client services activities in addition to developing and maintaining personal relationships with Synchrony clients. In addition, the Account Services team is responsible for leading client teams and internal cross-functional core teams in proactive strategic and tactical planning and execution, as well as the design, development, and execution of innovative pharmaceutical communications, programs and initiatives. The SVP is required to personally understand client challenges and lead internal and external teams to conceptualize, design, and deliver novel solutions to client needs in a manner that is consistent with the values and reputation of Synchrony.
The SVP also has primary responsibility for assigned departmental personnel, including employee recruitment, mentorship, and retention. Accountabilities include developing, maintaining, and meeting or surpassing forecasts; client development, relationships, and satisfaction; team leadership; new business development; and the overall strategy, development, and execution of assigned departments.
Job Duties
Leadership Management
- Support the CEO in ensuring that Synchrony Healthcare Communications (SHC) is meeting individual company goals and objectives and adhering to corporate values
- Manage all personnel and activities in the Account Services (SHC)
- Lead and oversee all internal and external client-related financial management and reporting
- Manage the profit & loss (P&L) activity and reporting for all client-related activities
- Monitor and manage all client-related activities to ensure timely delivery of products and services to clients
- Ensure internal team compliance with client contracts, timelines, and budgets
- Lead and support key internal committees pertaining to Account Services, business development, and client teams
- Monitor staffing plans and make recommendations designed to ensure appropriate resources and support to meet the needs of our clients and our commitments
- Execute departmental personnel performance evaluation process, development plans, and business plans; hold frequent mentoring discussions and address areas requiring improvement
- Establish and lead cross-functional teams in support of client needs for all clients
- Lead and support client strategic and tactical planning activities
Business Development
- Ensure that existing new business revenue goals are achieved
- Manage development and implementation of new business opportunities
- Lead teams and resources to create and submit/deliver RFIs/RFPs, proposals, and new business pitches/presentations
- Lead and assist with business development opportunities and initiatives required to increase revenue to meet and exceed company goals
- Manage development and presentation of high-quality deliverables
- Support the efforts to design and implement corporate branding, marketing strategies, and selling initiatives
- Provide Synchrony Group cross-selling, new business development, and revenue growth for new and existing clients
- Manage development of client(s) scope of work/service and/or project agreements
- Oversee financial aspects of client relationship, including compliance to contract/agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, invoices, and receivables
Internal and External Relationships
- Lead internal teams in all client services activities in addition to developing and maintaining personal relationships with Synchrony clients
- Foster and develop collaboration among departments, internal groups, and individuals to ensure innovative and collaborative solutions to client needs
- Represent the organization in an appropriate manner
- Be a positive force for enhancing team culture, consensus-building, and internal communications
- Facilitate communication among team members and clients necessary to maintain strong relationships and effective account and project management
- Resolve conflicts and celebrate successes; set clear team priorities; explain client/brand objectives and strategies; define success in terms of the whole team
- Keep CEO apprised of all key client concerns and opportunities; provide brand review meeting content
- Keep CEO apprised of all internal issues, concerns, and opportunities
- Attend client meetings and congresses, and communicate key learnings to the internal and client teams as appropriate
- Lead client presentations, selling and defending the agency's point of view
- Monitor industry and therapeutic area best practices and advances to ensure that Synchrony and its clients are at the cutting edge or leading the field

Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of experience of Account/Client Services support or pharmaceutical Marketing/Sales
- History of successful management of clients and associated internal teams
- Specific industry and/or therapeutic expertise
- Substantial experience leading at least 4 of the following activities: advertising and promotion, medical education activities, promotional medical-marketing communications, strategic communications planning, advisory boards, expert identification and engagement
Working Conditions

- Ability to attend and conduct virtual or in-person presentations
- Significant communication with clients and internal teams, including many presentations
- Ability to commit to extra and/or nontraditional hours as client needs require
