Vice President/Senior Vice President, Software Engineering 

US-Remote

We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Software Engineering to lead the architectural strategy and execution for our entire solution suite. This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for defining and overseeing the design, scalability, and integration of our platform as it is deployed within complex enterprise environments. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Architectural Ownership: 
    Define and evolve the architecture of Enterra’s autonomous decision science platform, ensuring it is scalable, modular, and deployable in diverse client environments. 
  • Platform Strategy & Vision: 
    Partner with leadership to set the long-term technical direction of the platform via roadmaps, balancing innovation with practical implementation. 
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: 
    Collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Client Services functions to ensure architectural alignment with business goals and client needs. 
  • Execution & Delivery: 
    Work with the engineering teams to translate architecture into robust, maintainable, and performant software solutions. Support the team through technical decision-making and high-impact buildouts. 
  • Client-Facing Technical Stewardship: 
    Serve as a technical thought leader during client engagements, helping customers understand deployment models, architecture decisions, and integration patterns. 
  • Governance & Best Practices: 
    Implement software development standards, documentation practices, and architecture governance to ensure quality, consistency, and reusability across the platform. 

Your Skill-set: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or related field; or equivalent experience required. 
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 7+ years in architecture roles. 
  • Strong track record of designing and deploying enterprise-grade platforms, ideally in AI/ML, data analytics, or decision intelligence domains. 
  • Deep understanding of modern architecture patterns (microservices, containers, event-driven, API-first) and analytics technologies. 
  • Experience with enterprise deployments in cloud environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and major cloud providers (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP). 
  • Demonstrated ability to work across technical and non-technical teams to drive alignment and successful outcomes. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong systems-thinking mindset. 
  • Comfortable with ambiguity with the ability to build structure and take a proactive approach to drive results. 
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Experience with security, compliance, and performance in large-scale distributed systems is a strong plus. 

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Background in platforms serving the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry or similar enterprise sectors highly preferred. 
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks, decision engines, or rule-based systems. 

Additional Information 

Must reside in the US – preference in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic Regions. Remote work permitted. Occasionally, travel may be needed based on client or project requirements. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
