Job Location:
This is a remote position; however, candidates should be available to travel to Arlington, VA on a quarterly basis.

Job Description:
In this position as an Accounting Manager, you will lead the development and execution of a scalable and efficient controllership function within a growing organization. You will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and play a critical role in driving automation, system improvements, and team development. This position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and hands-on experience in government contracting (GovCon) financial management. In this position, you will also:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the controllership function, including General Ledger management, Journal Entries, Audits, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Build and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes, with a strong focus on automation and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives, providing financial insights and guidance.
- Play a key role in scaling the company’s financial operations as the organization grows.
- Utilize Unanet ERP system to manage financial data and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial operations, focusing on enhancing processes and systems for optimal efficiency.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10 years of relevant accounting and financial management experience, with a proven track record of building and growing a controllership function.
- 5 years of recent Controllership/F&A experience within a Government Contracting (GovCon) organization.
- 1 year of Unanet ERP experience.
Desired Skills:
- CPA certification is highly desired.
- Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor people and teams.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and experience managing audits, general ledger, journal entries, AP/AR processes.
- Process-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and automation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
