Job Description:

As a Senior Associate, you will perform advanced accounting and financial analysis tasks, focusing on federal government financial statements and ensuring compliance with established standards. Your responsibilities will include analyzing data, providing audit support, and contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting processes. This position requires expertise in federal financial accounting and a strong ability to analyze complex accounting data.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Compile and publish accurate financial statements by performing advanced accounting and fund accounting tasks.
  • Analyze data from source documents and federal accounting systems to identify patterns, trends, and discrepancies.
  • Provide audit support to facilitate the execution of audit activities and develop solutions to remediate and prevent audit findings.
  • Review Journal Vouchers (JVs) for accuracy, identify errors, and conduct root cause analysis to improve processes and internal controls.
  • Conduct proprietary and budgetary USSGL (U.S. Standard General Ledger) analysis to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce and analyze federal financial statements. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal financial management standards and regulations.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in federal financial accounting, including experience producing or supporting federal financial statements.
  • 2 years of experience compiling and analyzing federal government financial statements.
  • 2 years of experience with proprietary and budgetary USSGL analysis.

Desired Skills:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification is preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex accounting data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal financial reporting processes and standards.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
