We are seeking a mid-level Digital Designer to join our growing digital marketing team and help establish design systems while supporting day-to-day content creation. This part-time role (approximately 30 hours/week) is perfect for someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across social media, email, and digital content channels.
Working primarily with our Digital Marketing & Creative Team Lead and Social Media Manager, you'll help extend our brand guidelines into the digital space while creating compelling content that serves both customer and agent audiences.
Job Description
PRIMARY FOCUS: Social Media & Email Design (Highlighted as most important)
- Create social media posts weekly across 4 different platforms, with unique executions per channel
- Design email templates and marketing content for customer and agent communications
- Elevate social media content by providing creative direction and format recommendations beyond basic execution requests
- Partner with Social Media Manager to ideate on content concepts and optimal formats (infographics vs. reels, etc.)
- Create cohesive branded template sets for common needs (quotes, executive announcements, HR materials, recruiting content)
Content & Campaign Support
- Support 3-4 content topics monthly, creating infographics and article graphics
- Support finite projects like self-service templates for internal teams
- Provide some creative direction for video content (internal team handles editing/production)
- Design for both customer and agent audiences with appropriate visual approaches
Collaboration & Optimization
- Partner with internal creative team to manage capacity and workflow
- Test digital assets and iterate based on performance feedback
- Research trends and suggest innovative approaches for timely implementation
Qualifications
Design Experience & Approach
- Mid-level digital designer with experience in both strategic design thinking and hands-on production
- Experience working in collaborative team environments and providing creative direction
- Strong online portfolio demonstrating digital design capabilities (required for interview process)
- Understanding of different audience needs (customer vs. agent-focused content - this is for insurance)
Technical Skills
- Expertise with design tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Strong knowledge of social media platform specifications and best practices
- Photo editing expertise (video editing nice-to-have but not required)
- Working knowledge of CSS and HTML preferred
- Experience with design systems and brand guideline development
Digital Marketing Understanding
- Experience creating content for social media formats (carousels, reels, stories, infographics)
- Knowledge of email design best practices and template creation
- Understanding of digital design trends and platform-specific optimization
- Ability to think beyond individual assets to overall content strategy and user experience
