You’ll lead the close process, manage a small but mighty team, and ensure accurate financial reporting aligned with US GAAP. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring others, and is always looking for ways to improve processes.
What You’ll Do:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, including direct oversight of a team of two.
Lead the month-end close process for all entities, including review and approval of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., prepaid expenses, customer deposits, vendor accruals, leases, and ASC 606 deferred revenue).
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to US GAAP.
Oversee revenue recognition and lead the preparation of technical memos and ASC 606 analyses for new revenue streams.
Manage the accounts receivable function, providing hands-on guidance across invoicing, collections, and cash application. Ensure billing accuracy and revenue recognition compliance in alignment with contract terms. Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success to resolve billing issues, streamline processes, and support evolving revenue models.
Oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and corporate card expenses. Review payment runs, enforce proper coding and approval workflows, maintain vendor relationships, and monitor AP aging to support cash flow management.
Assist the Controller with quarterly and annual tax filings, including applicable state and local tax obligations.
Maintain and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and support audit readiness.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Support the annual financial audit by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
Take ownership of special projects and provide hands-on support as business needs evolve.
