Job Description

We are looking for a Supervisor, Billing & Operations subject matter expert (SME) to serve as a key leader within the Customer Financial Services (CFS) team. Reporting to the Billing Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving operational efficiency. Additionally, the Supervisor will act as an SME, providing specialized knowledge, training, and support to enhance the effectiveness of billing operations across the organization. You will be required to have strong leadership, analytical, and technical skills to support the team and collaborate across departments.

As a Supervisor, Billing & Operations, your duties and responsibilities will include:

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of billing professionals, providing training and performance feedback to foster growth and productivity.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Billing Operations Oversight:

  • Supervise end-to-end billing activities, including invoicing, adjustments, collections, and payments, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct regular audits of billing processes to maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Monitor billing workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Act as a knowledge resource for billing systems, tools, and processes, supporting the broader CFS team in resolving complex issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for team members and stakeholders to ensure consistent understanding and application of billing practices.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Utilize billing and operational data to produce reports, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to support reporting needs, quarterly filings, and financial audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal teams, including finance, sales, operations, and customer service, to resolve discrepancies and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective problem resolution.

Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices:

  • Stay informed about industry regulations, compliance standards, and billing best practices to ensure adherence across all processes.
  • Lead initiatives to align billing operations with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of professional experience in billing operations, revenue assurance, or financial systems management, preferably within the telecommunications or a similarly regulated industry
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of billing systems and processes, with experience in system conversions and administration
  • Familiarity with telecommunication industry practices and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant billing software; knowledge of data analysis tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
