Data Strategy and Infrastructure Lead

In this role you will develop and implement Natcast's comprehensive data strategy, establishing frameworks to manage diverse research data streams from in-house research, grant programs, and facilities while building the foundation for future data governance. You will also be responsible for building data pipelines for various internal and external stakeholder use cases, establishing a governance model to handle these processes, maintaining a secure data environment, curating data, and developing data repositories for future use cases.

This foundational position will establish Natcast's data management approach across multiple research streams. The role combines strategic planning with technical implementation to create a scalable data infrastructure that supports both current research initiatives and future growth.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive data strategy encompassing in-house research, grant programs, and affiliated technical centers
Design and implement data architecture supporting diverse research workflows
Establish data governance frameworks and best practices
Create standards for research data collection, storage, and accessibility
Lead development of data infrastructure and management systems
Partner with research teams to optimize data capture and utilization
Build and maintain data pipelines for various internal and external stakeholder use cases.
Work with business lines (Research, IT, DEG/SiAgg, Workforce Development) to lead efforts in establishing frameworks that streamline operational efficiencies
Required Skills and Experience:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or related field
10+ years experience in technical data management
Strong background in research data infrastructure
Experience developing enterprise data strategies
Excellence in stakeholder management
Track record of implementing data governance
Demonstrated technical leadership abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with semiconductor research data
Background in scientific computing environments
Knowledge of federal grant data requirements
Understanding of IP management
Experience with large-scale research programs
Expertise in research data standards
