Job Description

Natcast (short for The National Center for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology) is a new, purpose-built, non-profit entity created to operate the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC) consortium, established by the CHIPS Act of the U.S. government.

Environmental Health and Safety Manager

In this role you will lead Natcast's environmental health and safety initiatives, ensuring operational excellence while protecting our people and environment through rigorous standards and innovative safety practices.

Every day you will oversee critical safety programs, manage environmental compliance, and collaborate with teams across the organization to maintain the highest standards of workplace safety in our semiconductor research facilities.

To thrive in this role you must combine technical expertise with unwavering commitment to safety, demonstrating the ability to both understand complex semiconductor processes and implement comprehensive EHS programs.

Natcast stands at the forefront of semiconductor research and engineering, serving as a crucial hub for innovation in the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem. Through the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), Natcast drives technological advancement through collaborative partnerships, cutting-edge facilities, and a commitment to maintaining U.S. leadership in semiconductor technology.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and compliant operations. The role requires sophisticated understanding of semiconductor manufacturing hazards combined with strong program management expertise to protect our people and environment while enabling innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs

• Manage chemical safety and hazardous materials protocols

• Lead risk assessments and safety audits

• Direct incident investigations and corrective actions

• Oversee emergency response planning

• Ensure environmental compliance

• Conduct safety training and mentorship

• Monitor and report EHS performance metrics

• Manage regulatory agency relationships

• Drive continuous safety improvement initiatives

• Oversee cleanroom safety protocols

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or related field (Master's preferred)

• 5+ years semiconductor EHS experience

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes and hazards

• Excellence in safety program management

• Experience with regulatory compliance

• Strong stakeholder management abilities

• Incident investigation expertise

• Training and development capabilities

• Risk assessment experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• CSP or CIH certification

• Experience with cleanroom operations

• Knowledge of toxic gas systems

• High-voltage safety expertise

• ISO certification experience

• Environmental program management

• Emergency response management skills
