Job Summary
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join an elite team of industry leaders at a cutting-edge French fintech startup. This company’s blend of financial expertise and advanced technology has rapidly positioned it as a leader in scalable, secure fintech solutions designed to meet the needs of some of the world’s most innovative financial institutions.
In this role, you’ll drive the development of robust backend systems, architecting secure, high-performance applications while tackling complex data integration, scalability, and security challenges. In this role, you will
Lead the development and optimization of robust backend systems, primarily using Python and AWS services, to support high-performance AI-driven applications that scale efficiently with user demand
Architect secure, scalable, and maintainable infrastructures on AWS, including database design, cloud storage, and serverless architectures that align with the company’s mission for growth and impact
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI researchers and data scientists, to seamlessly integrate AI models into user-centric applications
Architect scalable, maintainable systems that support the company’s rapid growth and mission to make a meaningful environmental impact
Mentor and support junior developers, fostering an environment of collaboration and technical excellence
Automate and optimize systems to deliver faster, more efficient solutions to both users and internal teams
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong foundation in computer science with expertise in Python, including experience in backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django) and API development
Deep knowledge of AWS services (such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB) and familiarity with building and deploying cloud-native applications
Understanding of secure, scalable architectures and best practices for handling sensitive data in cloud environments
Passion for AI and backend development, with an emphasis on building systems that enhance AI model performance and user experience
Proven commitment to teamwork, continuous growth, and a proactive approach to feedback and collaboration
Background in early-stage startup environments is a plus, as is a high degree of adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, for scalable, reproducible infrastructure management
Experience with data processing frameworks and libraries in Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and their integration with cloud-based data pipelines
